Loved by Make-Up Artists - Kryolan Make-Up

Last week I went to a great event showcasing renowned make-up artist, Lan's new book. In the goody bag there were some samples of Kryolan make-up which I have never tried before so wanted to share with you.
Kryolan is a professional make-up brand loved by make-up artists so I had high expectations. First is a beautiful matte red lipstick called Aphrodite.
This is definitely my favourite product. I love a matte lip and this is a great red I think would suit most people. Being a professional make-up range, it is great quality so really long-lasting - it got through breakfast, two cups of tea and lots of water before needing to be reapplied!
Next up is a lip and cheek colour called Hibiscus - I do love a multi-tasker.
I wasn't too sure about this product to be honest. The texture is quite runny so you wouldn't use too much, so actually the colour it gives would be incredibly subtle. Some people might like this, but I don't think it's for me.
Next, is another one I loved. A beautiful illuminator in a shade called Cashmere.
It gives a lovely natural, beautiful sheen (no sparkle at all!) which makes cheekbones pop. Another winner!
So, all in all I'm loving Kryolan products and will definitely be adding the lipstick to my handbag. Find out all about them here.

Like Marzipan? NEW Weleda Almond Sensitive Skin Range

Launching this month there is something pretty special from Weleda. Perfect for even the most sensitive skin, the Weleda Almond range includes a Body Lotion, Body Wash and Hand Cream. I got treated to the Body Lotion which is a dream...

I'll try not to go on about the smell too much, but my God is it good! If you don't like almonds then this isn't the range for you. If like me, you can't get enough then this smells good enough to eat. A beautiful marzipan scent, it feels like such a treat to put on. However, don't be worried that you'll smell like a dessert all day as the fragrance doesn't last long - it's more a lovely treat for yourself when you put it on than anyone else!

It is a really light lotion where a little goes a long way. Calming down any irritation or redness with the Almond oil, whilst also providing long-lasting moisture, and Beeswax also strengthens the skin's own natural barrier.
It is certified organic as you might expect from Weleda and I'm very sad I've finished this product. If you fancy giving it a go, it is £13.95 from selected pharmacies and online.

NEW Vichy Idealia Skin Sleep - How to Get a Good Night's Sleep

It's Monday. Did you sleep well? Do you look like you slept well? That's exactly what I'm talking about today...

I recently went to the launch of this new Vichy product and have been trying it out every night for a few weeks and have to say it is a beautiful thing!
Like most of us, I probably don't get enough sleep, which wreaks havoc on our skin as it's the prime time to repair itself. Vichy actually tested this product specifically on those who have little sleep e.g. new mothers, nurses, flight crew, so you know it's been rigorously tried and tested.
There are some big claims with this product. It is the first night product proven to stimulate skin's deep sleep mechanisms so that no matter how many hours sleep you have, the skin's nightly functions remain at their optimum. Inside is Hyaluronic Acid, brilliant at hydration and cell regeneration, and LHA, derived from Salicylic Acid to smooth and even skin to give a great glow.
It also has a light scent of relaxing Green Tea and Jasmine, which they found led to 73% of women feeling more relaxed before going to sleep.
The thing you first notice about this product is the texture. It is called a gel-balm so it isn't quite a cream you normally find with night moisturisers, but it isn't quite a gel either. Very hard to explain, but it is super light, really soothing and sinks into the skin very quickly.
After a few weeks I definitely noticed my skin looking a lot more radiant and fresh first thing in the morning, even if I hadn't got a particularly good sleep. There is obviously a lot of research, testing and innovative that has gone into this product and it shows in the results. Definitely one to try!
Vichy Idealia Skin Sleep is £26.50 (such a reasonable price for a wonderful product) available at Boots.

August Empties/Favourites

So another month rolls around...!

First in this month's favourites is my top foundation which I was specifically colour-matched at Boots, the No.7 Stay Perfect Superlight Foundation SPF 15. It's brilliantly light yet gives great coverage and evens out skintone. As soon as this ran out I had to buy a new one. I recommend everyone to get colour matched.
Even though this has SPF in it, especially over summer I need to go a little higher than SPF 15. This Hawaiian Tropic sun lotion is also really light, sinks in quickly and doesn't have any hint of whiteness or rubs off when rubbing it in - perfect.
Another product I've been loving and will have to repurchase soon is the Soap & Glory Arch de Triumph. I never use the highlighter end but seem to be getting through the eyebrow pencil quicker and quicker. Perfect for blondes like me, it isn't too dark but defines nicely and lasts all day.
Next, the original Batiste, just's something I can't live without! During Summer I also find I need more foot cream and Heel Genius is great. It's minty so feels very refreshing, great when it's hot.
Especially in Summer a primer is an essential to keep make-up in place. The Body Shop's primer is lovely and silky and you don't need very much to let it do it's job - will definitely need to repurchase.
What have you been loving this month?

NEW By Terry Light-Expert Click Brush - Launches Today!

Last week I went to a fab event for the new launches from make-up brand By Terry. If you didn't know the range was created by Terry de Gunzburg, the woman who created the infamous YSL Touche Éclat. So she knows her stuff! And this new product is like a Touche Éclat but bigger and better...
The Light-Expert Click Brush can be used as a foundation, for contouring, illuminating, or as a freshen up to your make-up post-work and pre-going out! I do love a multi-tasker. The technology behind it sounds pretty epic with 'Intensive Mimetic Camouflage' technology to conceal imperfections and give a flawless base, whilst light prisms give radiance.
The kabuki brush is short, soft and supple and gives extensive coverage whilst still able to get into every crease. Also the brush can screw off so you can wash it, which is very clever as this always bothered me about Touche Éclat that you can't wash it properly so germs just sit in the brush.
The fluid comes out in four dots in the brush to give an ideal measurement which you can easily build to what you need.
There are six shades, I was one of the lightest called Apricot Light.
What I love most about this is the texture. It is so silky and blends effortlessly that the look it gives is really natural even if you have a thicker coverage. Obviously Terry's experience shows here!
Before blending:
And after:
I've got a feeling this is going to be a hit. And it launches today at SpaceNK so be quick! For this large tube (19.5ml so a lot bigger than Touche Éclat) it is £48. It's something I'm definitely going to keep in my handbag to freshen up my face before a night out after work.
