Hot, Hot, HOT!

Happy Friday everyone! Top beauty news this week...

Diptyque Advent Calendar - this is the stuff of dreams! I saw it this week at a press day and wanted to run away with it. It will cost £250 but you get 25 mini candles for that so quite good value if you have that money to spare...or someone who loves you does!

Ghost Girl - fruity with pear, pomegranate and raspberry, it is also very feminine and floral. Launching 20th August it will be from £25 for 30ml.

Cushion eyeliners - I'm still obsessed with this texture trend from Korea and loving my Lancome cushion foundation (see all about that here) and news this week from Stila says that they will be launching cushion eyeliners this September. They will use a 'quill nib' to soak into the cushion and apply - sounds fab!

NEW Weleda Arnica Sports Shower Gel

Launching this Saturday is the latest product from Weleda, an Arnica shower gel.
The Arnica Massage Oil has been one of the brand's most popular products for years, so why not extend the range and give people more of what they want? Organic arnica oil soothes and refreshes, whilst it also has lavender oil in there to calm whilst rosemary oil invigorates the body, perfect post-exercise.

Of course, being from Weleda there are no synthetic substances in here. No SLS, SLES or foamy agents. Yet it leaves you feeling thoroughly cleansed, and the rosemary definitely perks you up after a tough gym work-out! The smell is quite strong, and maybe not to everyone's liking, but if you are a fan you're in luck, as post-shower you get the fragrance wafting over every now and then.

This launches Saturday for just £7.95 for 200ml.

Trying to be healthy...

Oh dear, I try so hard to be as healthy as possible. But why do healthy things tend to taste vile?!
On my healthy mission, I tried out Nature's Plus Green Lightning, a sachet of pure health. 100% natural, simply mix with water to give yourself a concentrated mix of vitamins, minerals and goodness.
I really REALLY wanted to get on board with this. But when it tastes so disgusting, I can't even stomach it. Back to more traditional healthy options of real fruit and veg for me!
Anything healthy out there that's tasty??!

Is Next Make-Up Any Good?

I'd never really think of Next for make-up and general beauty, but I recently tried out some of their make-up products and was pleasantly surprised.
The packaging isn't the most luxurious, but as long as the products themselves are good, the packaging doesn't really matter, does it?! Here is their Face Illuminator and Lip 'Chubby' crayon in Midnight.
It's a really creamy texture which I love. A satin finish, you need a few coats to get a good colour but you can build it to what you want - a subtle stain or something more. The illuminator is also really nice. A lovely glow, it isn't sparkly so looks very natural and blends really well.
I'm really impressed. The Face Illuminator is £10 and the Lip Chubby is £8. See their extensive make-up range here.

Hot, Hot, HOT!

Another week, another load of exciting beauty news!

Isamaya Ffrench named as YSL Beaute UK Makeup Ambassador - for those who don't know Isamaya is a beauty institution! She is Beauty Editor of ID magazine and super cool. So YSL have done pretty well to appoint her as UK Makeup Ambassador.

Estee Lauder Modern Muse Le Rouge - whenever Kendall Jenner gets involved with something you know it's big news. This new fragrance launched yesterday for £45 - sure to sell out!

Andreja Pejic for Make Up Forever - this was announced earlier in the year but now we have the first video and the looks are just beautiful! For their 'Be You' campaign, it salutes embracing your own individual beauty. Which can only be a good thing.

Which news are you most excited about?

What I'm Loving: Perricone MD Photo Plasma

I was going to include this in my July favourites but I think it deserves a dedicated post. This is one of nicest moisturisers I've ever tried.
It is light as air, really hydrating and with SPF 30. The texture I think is the real seller here - it's like a mousse and a little goes a long way. I've been using this for the past few months as my day cream and will be really sad once I've finished it.
As well as just being a gorgeous moisturiser, it also protects against UVA and UVB rays as well as other skin irritants such as pollution, smoke and free radicals - a great addition when you're dealing with London!
It is quite pricey at £57 but like I said it lasts a long time and is truly one of the best moisturisers I've ever used so definitely worth it. The lightweight texture has been especially great during these past humid weeks. Check it out here.

NEW Label.m Rejuvenating Oil Mist

Something new and exciting from label.m today! They have just launched a Rejuvenating Oil Mist in their Therapy range.
The word mist is crucial here as it really is a fine spray - any heavier and it could weigh down and make hair look a little greasy, especially hair as fine as mine.
It contains Argan Oil, Omega 3, 6 and 9, Vitamins A and E and a unique Rejuven-8tm complex to deeply nourish your hair. Especially good at this time of year when hair can get incredibly dry.
It can be used on wet or dry hair. I tend to spray it over after a shower and I've definitely noticed a reduction in frizz. It's a really gorgeous, lightweight hair treatment that gives immediate results and will make sure hair is in the best condition possible - what's not to like?!
It is £24.95, find out more info here.

My Little Road Trip Box

Bold statement coming up, but I think this might just be the best My Little Box yet!
It certainly isn't helping me wanting to book a holiday ASAP! Inside is this beautiful saying plus a travel organiser which is so pretty, just like everything My Little Box does.
Then for the beauty side of things there a great mini Garnier Micellar Water plus a beaut Essie nail polish, some gold metallic tattoos which I'm loving at the moment after trying some Seekers of the Sun ones, and a My Little Beauty after-sun.
Also inside is a Bic pen with a stylus on the other end so you can tap away on your phone without ruining your nails, and a postcard pack where you can send your best memories of your trip back to yourself (or someone else if you prefer).
A fantastic box, I was so excited to go through it. Keep up the great work My Little Box!

Hot, Hot, HOT!

Here is a round-up of the beauty news from this week...

The 30 Plus Blog Collective Launches - This week, Hayley from LBQ launched the 30+ blog collective to celebrate those of us in our thirties. With my 30th birthday looming, beauty for this age bracket is very important, not just to me but so many of us. Lots of bloggers are great but are maybe too young to understand the concerns we have. Well done Hayley - excited to see where this goes!

Irene Kim for Estee Lauder - this collaboration was announced this week, as if we didn't need reminding that everything Korean is top of the beauty agenda right now! Irene Kim is a huge personality in South Korea and will be Estee Lauder's Global Beauty Contributor (whatever that is!) and shows Estee Lauder is investing heavily into the Korean market.

So Many Acquisitions - I'm not really liking this trend for the huge beauty companies to be buying up all the brands but it is big news for the week. This week it was announced that Unilever has bought Murad, and Coty has bought a whopping 43 of P&G's brands such as Dolce & Gabbana fragrances, Hugo Boss, Max Factor and Wella. It will be interesting to see how/if the brands change...

Daniele Ryman Massage Oil Candle

Love a multi-tasker! And who wouldn't adore a candle where you can also use the wax as a massage oil or just to pop on dry cuticles, elbows, etc. That is what you get with the Daniele Ryman massage oil candle collection.
This one is the Alive candle which energises and revitalises so one to use throughout the day rather than in the evening when you want to wind down! All the Daniele Ryman candles are 100% natural made with essential oils plus Cocoa and Shea Butter.
I absolutely love it. The oil is really nourishing and has sorted out my dry cuticles. Plus the smell when you have the candle burning is gorgeous. I can't find anywhere that tells me exactly what essential oils are in this one but it's really zesty!
I love discovering new brands. Daniele Ryman is an aromatherapist so knows her stuff. There are six candles in this range and cost £30, find out all about them here.

My Top Bronzers

As a genetically pale lady, I need some bronzer whenever I can get it! I am applying fake tan twice a week now, and then on top pop some bronzer on so I don't look too much like a ghost! So here are my top ones...
So my absolute favourite is The Body Shop's Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder. You can tell by the way I've almost hit the pan here! It's a really natural, matte bronzer that is super easy to blend away. Love it!! It's £13 from their shops and website.
I've also rediscovered an old classic - Hoola by Benefit. It's been sitting in a drawer for ages, but needed to come out once again. Apparently it's the no.1 best selling bronzer in the UK! Very natural, no nasty sparkle. But only criticism is it doesn't blend as quickly as The Body Shop one but still a fab bronzer to finish your look with. It is £23.50 and will last aaaages - check it out here.
Next some new bronzers I've recently tried and fallen in love with. First up, the Vita Liberata Trystal Bronzing Minerals. This is a great innovation, as the world's first self-tanning bronzer. Trystal3 technology gives you a lovely glow for up to 5 days. If you want low maintenance tanning, this is it! Plus it's on special offer at Boots at the moment!
Finally, the New CID I-bronze in Rio. As well as just looking so pretty, it gives a bronzing and illuminising effect in one. Picking up the different tones with your brush means it looks really natural and subtle. One for when I don't need to look so bronzed. It is £25 and definitely worth every penny. Find out more information here.
What are your top bronzers? Any the same as mine?

#ManicureMonday - NEW Paul & Joe Creme de Cacao

This week I'm giving the new nail polish from Paul & Joe, a gorgeous taupe called Crème de Cacao. Check out the full new Midnight Sangria range here.
It's a lovely nude if you fancy a low-maintenance polish. This is it after two coats, you could get away with one thick coat but much better to have two thinner coats. It lasts a lot longer!
I don't tend to like nude shades too much, but because this is a bit darker I like it a lot. It's more of a taupe/coffee colour. I've also had it on for a few days now and it's lasting really well. Paul & Joe nail polishes are great quality, they are £10 from Selfridges.

My Top Travel Minis

With summer comes holidays and with that is the need to take mini versions of your beauty favourites away with you. So here are the top minis I'm loving as travel essentials!
First REN. Oh how I love REN skincare! This travel kit is their sensitive skin trio I got in the SpaceNK sale aaaages ago. There is a 50ml Hydra-Calm Day Cream, a 30ml Hydra-Calm Youth Defence Serum and 25ml Hydra-Calm Cleansing Gel - all perfect for hand luggage as well as suitcase. If you have sensitive skin I couldn't recommend this range more. All the products have been formulated to soothe, hydrate and nourish your skin - all very much needed whilst travelling.
You also can't go wrong with Cowshed. This cute kit contains a Lavender Gentle Cleanser (30ml), Chamomile Refreshing Toner (30ml), Quinoa Hydrating Daily Moisturiser (20ml) and Lippy Cow Natural Lip Balm plus a muslin cloth. My only qualm with this is that I would like the moisturiser to be as big if not bigger than the cleanser and toner.
Next if you're into your 'green' beauty, Weleda* has the perfect hero set. This has inside a mini Skin Food (10ml) which I absolutely love, 10ml Birch Cellulite Oil (good for when in bikinis!), 7ml Wild Rose Day Cream, 10ml Pomegranate Hand Cream and 20ml Sea Buckthorn Body Lotion. This has a lot more than the previous two sets but the products are a little smaller, so perhaps better for weekends away rather than anything longer.
Finally, for hair my top recommendation are the Paul Mitchell Moisture minis*. 100ml shampoo and conditioner (so suitcase rather than hand luggage appropriate) and you also get inside a Moisture Mist - so perfect when your hair is dried out by sun, chlorine, sea water, etc.
There you have it - something for all your beauty needs whilst on the go this Summer.

Summer Beauty - Top Coral Lipsticks

Summer is all about coral right? On my nails, cheeks and also lips. Here are my top coral-coloured lippies for all season long...
First is quite an intense orange-coral gloss from Paul & Joe. This is their Glossy Lip Colour in No. 5 - Tunisia. It's really pigmented, on the more orange scale of coral and has lots of moisturisers inside such as Orange Flower Water and White Lily Extract. Plus I love the brush, really easy to use.

Next, a gorgeous coral lipstick from Lord & Berry. This one here is the Lipstick Crayon in Fire. It's a really intense colour, a kind of red-coral. This crayon lasts a long time and I just love a crayon - so easy!

Now for the two more subtle colours. The Body Shop's Colour Crush lipstick in 110 Coral Blush is what I would describe as a nude coral. Good for a day time look and also suits all skin tones. It doesn't dry your lips out at all, is really creamy and has a light rose fragrance.

Finally, I love Cargo Essential Lip Colour in Bermuda. It's really creamy and just gives a hint of a coral hue. It is more of a colour wash than super pigmented but sometimes all you need is a touch of coral!
Go forth and embrace the coral this season!

The Best Way to Have Beauty Treatments - At Home!

I LOVE a beauty treatment - massage, mani, pedi, facial, etc, etc I adore it all! I have regular massages and then throw the other treatments in when I can afford it/feel I need them. I used to go to a great little place in China Town for my massages. I left feeling so relaxed and zen...until I hit the tube home. See that's the problem, the journey home usually kills your calm mood.

So I have decided to pay the little bit extra to have the luxury of treatments in the comfort of my own lounge. You don't move a muscle. It's the way forward I'm telling you!
First I tried a massage at home through Wahanda. The woman brought all her own towels, oil and massage table. I had to provide the music, and I didn't have much chill-out so I was more prepared the next time she came. She says some of her clients watch TV, some even drink vodka! I'll settle for Ibiza chill out music.
My relaxation continued through the whole evening. I had some wine, a bath, pure bliss.
Next I tried a pedicure with Perfect 10. I had seen their dotty cars around London, and thought I'd give them a go last weekend. With it being flip flop weather now, I had to make sure my feet looked somewhat OK! The pedicure even had a head massage included which left me feeling so chilled.

Again, I could then just enjoy my evening with no tube/bus/car journey to ruin anything.

Treatments at home are obviously more expensive than if you were to go somewhere, but only by around £10 which I definitely think is worth paying. That little bit extra means you get the full benefit of what you've been treated to.
I will definitely continue to have the therapists come to me! Have any of you tried at-home treatments?
