Here's a quick round-up of the beauty goodies I got yesterday...I feel very lucky
Thierry Mugler Alien perfume is my all-time fave since I smelt it back in February this year. I'd used every single drop of my last bottle so I really needed some more!
A No.7 kit with two neutral eyeshadows (perfect shades for me), mascara, lipstick and nail polish
Seventeen Nail Stash - nine nail polishes, I'm in heaven!
More nail polishes!! My family know me so well. This time the Nails Inc. Capsule Collection. I even saw this in Boots the other week and almost got it for myself.
I also got my fair share of Soap and Glory. This is the Girl O'Whirl set with everything you could need. Eyeshadows, lip glosses, Sexy Mother Pucker, mascara, bronzer and highlighter. Perfect!
Make-up done, now Soap and Glory toiletries! This one wasn't a surprise, my Mum and I had bought it for each other when The Yule Monty was better than half price in Boots. This will keep me going all of next year.
More skincare, this time from The Body Shop and their great Vitamin E range which is great for dry skin.
Another great dry skin gift. The Beauticology body butter set with Strawberry, Candy Cane and Cherry scented body lotions. The cherry one smells of marzipan - almost good enough to eat!
Finally the Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream set. I love 8 Hour Cream, in any form, and how cute is this bag it comes in?
Inside you have an 8 Hour Cream lip balm, hand cream and face cream, as well as gloves and socks to keep everything cosy and moisturised this winter!
Adele's MBE nails - this made me love Adele even more. When collecting her MBE yesterday she had a crown nail jewel - fabulous!
Discovering new brands - my You magazine advent calendar couldn't have been better so far! Still 4 days to go…The thing I'm loving the most is discovering all the new beauty brands. Would definitely recommend a beauty advent calendar for next year if you didn't get one this year
Bobbi Brown Nude Glow - one word, gorgeous! Launching in January.
MI - this nasty ingredient in some beauty products has been shown to aggravate eczema and cause allergic reactions. Luckily the Cosmetics Europe trade association this week has banned it from all its members' products this week - YAY!
I plumped for a deep forest green by Cheeky called moss-behaving this week
I went to the newly launched Cheeky Parlour here and they have a great selection of nail polishes. A deep green is perfect for this time of year I think. Their polishes have thick brushes meaning that it is really quick and easy to apply. This polish could be a one-coater but I did two just to get an even bold colour.
What do you think? If you like it, it is £7 from Cheeky
Yesterday I was far too hungover to blog! But it did have the most exciting product - the BioEffect EGF Serum
Its a small sample but you just need two drops a day to get results and 15ml is £125 so this is expensive, precious stuff! I've only heard good things so I'm excited to try it. Take a look at Boots here
So today we have Dr. Organic Dead Sea Mineral Eye Rescue Rollerball.
I hate my undereye dark circles with a passion so anything that can help I'll give a go. Plus I've never tried anything from Dr. Organic, another new beauty brand to try - I love it! Have a look at what's inside here
Today's treat is a black pencil eyeliner from Green People.
One of the things I'm loving about this advent calendar is discovering new beauty brands. I've heard of Green People but never tried any of their products. Black eyeliner is a make-up essential for me. I believe eyeliner makes everything better! So I'm very keen to try this organic one.
The anti-ageing properties include Vitamins A and E plus shea butter and jojoba oil - great! The liner itself isn't deep black but you wouldn't expect that from an organic pencil. More subtle, yet still giving definition to eyes it is £10.95
Here are the best and worst beauty news snippets from the week
Beyonce - love her, after today love her even more. Also so many different beauty looks in her new videos, I especially love this one. Cannot wait to download this!
Sleek Garden of Eden Palette - simply gorgeous. Wearable colours, launching in February at £7.99.
Natural Beauty Market Growing - a report came out this week by Kline stating that the natural beauty market has grown by 10.6% worldwide. I definitely think natural beauty is becoming more mass-market and something most women are concerned about, not just tofu-eating, green tea-drinking yoga bunnies! A step in the right direction in my opinion...
Made in Chelsea perfume - I love reality TV, always watch the show, but do I think the cast must smell amazing and so must buy a perfume with the show's name on? Erm, no.
Chloe Sims Tanning - another reality star, another fake tan. Over. It.
Fog Hair - this horrible fog this week meant I left the house looking decent and arrived at work with a frizzy ball of hair :-(
A gorgeous Stila lip glaze today! Called Kaleidoscope it is a very nude, neutral shade but the sparkle is amazing - great for Xmas! Plus it has the gorgeous fruity scent all Stila lip glosses have.
This is a new shade of their best selling lip glaze for Winter. It is great as a subtle lip, or to top over your favourite lipstick, plus it deeply moisturises, but best of all - it just smells amazing!
Get down to Boots tomorrow to snap up the best bargain of the year!
Soap & Glory's The Yule Monty gift set will be reduced at Boots stores and online from £60 to £27. It is sure to go fast as inside there are all full-size products. I love Soap & Glory and their products keep me going all year round so I shall be going straight to the website tomorrow morning.
This is definitely the product that's been the hardest to get out of the advent calendar! I couldn't do it this morning, but it seems I'm not alone as after tweeting about it lots of other people said exactly the same thing. Anyway, its out now and it was worth the fuss. A full size Steamcream!
Cool pattern huh? I've never tried Steamcream before but I've only ever heard good things about it. It is quite a thin natural cream for hands, body and face. A real all-in-one! It has won countless awards, is a British company. Plus you can keep the funky tins once you've used it all. I can't wait to try it out.
Recently I went to the new bareMinerals boutique in Canary Wharf and here are a couple of lip glosses from the goody bag...
The Loud & Clear gloss is in Pink Pulse which is a sheer hot pink, whereas the Marvelous Moxie gloss is called Maverick and is thicker, more pigmented and a rose gold/brown shade.
The Loud & Clear gloss is more like a balm than anything else. With shea butter and jojoba seed oil, it is great for this time of year when my lips dry out and I also want a little hint of colour. They are £15, check out the various shades here
The Marvelous Moxie gloss is a 'proper' lip gloss that delivers moisture and colour. It also contains various butters like Loud & Clear, as well as vitamins - what more could you want! £16, 14 shades, take a look here
The Loud & Clear is below the Marvelous Moxie gloss on my hand in this pic. As you can see it is as sheer as you can get, perfect for those who want a subtle bit of colour. The Marvelous Moxie one is a big pop of colour in comparison.
Plus you get free delivery at the moment with the code XMAS1 - go go go!
Another amazingly fragranced product today! Behind the ninth door is Trilogy's Rosapene Night Cream.
Rosapene is their unique trademarked anti-oxidant oil blend and it smells of rose which I love. This night cream also contains goji berries and manuka honey to deeply moisturise and restore the skin whilst you sleep.
The cream itself looks quite thick so a little will go a long way. Obviously this is a mini size, the full sized product is £28.50, check it all out here
